in what world would the Flames want one of the Pens backup goalies with Rittich and Talbot in the fold. Talbot has been good despite only 1 win. Unless its a goalie playing in the AHL, and doesn't need to clear waivers, I don't see any reason for them looking at a goalie.

Talbot is awful and has been for years. The Flames also have zero goalies in their system besides Rittich who even look NHL calibre. Both Jarry and DeSmith are miles better than anyone else the Flames have and would be part of the team for at least the next few years.

Trade Brodie for one of them, stash Talbot in the AHL, and use the cap space to fix another area.

They didn't have the cap space, and they thought Talbot was still an NHL goalie.

Yeah sure Eklund, Jesse Puljujarvi has no say where he winds up. Habs are a joke Steve Yzerman is the only one that was scouting him over in Finland recently. Like your 80% that AA is getting dealt is a royal joke as well. Seeing that Yzerman stays mum on matters like this.

DeSmith or Jarry would be a huge upgrade over Talbot for sure. Either would challenge Rittich for starters role. Yes EK must be on lsd or something, his last two blogs are worse than usual. Calgary has two solid goalies. Nobody is sure on Brodie's health yet while the Pens already have enough injuries plaguing them. This "deal" seems to make no sense. None. Whatsoever.

I agree the deal makes no sense though. Don’t think the flames should trade Brodie for a backup goalie. Maybe for someone that can score some goals.
